Lisa E. Wussow, age 61, of Miltona, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 4, 2020, at her home after a brief battle with Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2020, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria with Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Music is provided by pianist, Kristi Wussow and vocalist, Stacy Froemming. Lisa’s service will be live streamed at https://www.lindfamilyfh.com/obituary/Lisa-Wussow and broadcast live on 105.3 FM Radio to cars parked in the funeral home parking lot.

Lisa Eleanor was born on July 15, 1959, to Walter and Alice (Wagner) Thoennes in Alexandria. She attended Catholic School in Millerville through the sixth grade and graduated from Brandon High School in 1977. Lisa continued her education in Fergus Falls where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree. Following her education she worked at Douglas County Hospital as an LPN. Lisa was united in marriage to Joel Wussow on September 19, 1987, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley. Together they started Wussow Auto Sales where Lisa was the manager. She returned to nursing at the State Care Facility in Carlos for 20 years. After the care facility closed, Lisa began working for the Douglas County Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in 2010, and worked there until her recent diagnosis of Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease. During the past nine years, she also worked for Douglas County Land Corp (hunting club) where she cooked and managed the schedule. Lisa was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. She had a passion for showing and riding horses. Lisa also enjoyed cooking, gardening, rescuing pugs, and pontooning with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alice Thoennes.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 33 years, Joel; son, Derek (Cassandra) Quinn of Millerville; daughter, Tara (Shannon) Luedloff of Arlington; five grandchildren, Devin Luedloff, Brooke, Aja, Kira, and Bentley Quinn.

Serving as urn bearers will be Judith Nylander, Sue Jost, Jill Klimek, and Pat Speath. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
