Keith A. Wilson

Keith A. Wilson, age 67, of Alexandria, formerly of Worthington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at home on Thursday, March, 6, 2025.

A celebration of his life will be 11 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2025, at Vie Church in Alexandria with Pastor Patrick Herzog presiding. Interment will take place at Lake Ida Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m., with a time of remembrance at 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, April 3rd at Vie Church. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service.

Keith was born in Worthington, Minnesota on December 17, 1957, and was raised on his family farm outside of Round Lake. Growing up, Keith loved playing ping pong with his brothers, playing basketball, and riding horses with his high school sweetheart, Jean. He graduated from Round Lake High School in 1976 and married Jean in 1978. He farmed with his brother Randy for two years before moving to Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated in 1986. He started his veterinary career in Postville, Iowa and in 1988, moved back to Worthington where he practiced veterinary medicine for the next 23 years. In 2011, he continued his animal science work with vaccines at Newport Labs. He fell in love with Alexandria, a community where he had vacationed every summer as a child– and later with his own children– before moving there in 2015 with Jean.

Keith lived a generous and abundant life. He had a passion for aviation, getting his pilot's license in 2002 and later starting Proclaim Aviation Ministries with three others, an organization that equips missionary pilots to bring the love of Christ to the world. He lived out his life’s verse, John 10:10, by living an abundant life that was filled with joy and love. Quick with a kind smile, a wise word, and prompting questions, Keith’s gentle spirit buoyed everyone he came into contact with and continues to echo within those who love him.

In his later years, Keith traveled the world with the love of his life, Jean. They competed in daily cribbage games, played spirited pickleball matches with friends, hosted lively dinners, played with rowdy grandkids, and hiked extensively in the desert surrounding their seasonal home in Palm Springs, California. Following a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer, Keith was lovingly walked home by a strong community of family, friends, and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Gordon “Gordy” and Dolores Wilson, and his parents- in-law, Sylvester and Phyllis Holle.

Keith will be deeply and profoundly missed by those who survive him including his loving wife, Jean Wilson; his cherished children, Katelynn (Collin McFadden) Wilson of Edmonds, Washington, Daniel (Rachel Stoll) Wilson of Winona, and Anna (Brock Berglund) Wilson of Alexandria; his memory will live on in his six, dearly beloved grandchildren, Isa and Artie Berglund, Will and Liv McFadden, and Riley and Dylan Wilson; his four siblings, with whom he vacationed with for 20 years, Steve (Jan) Wilson of Fremont, Nebraska, Sharon (Ryan) Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Randy (Mary) Wilson of Lead, South Dakota, and Bruce (Tracy) Wilson of Shoreview; along with many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
