Ann M. Johnson, age 58, of Alexandria was healed through death at St. Cloud Hospital on Thursday, July 20, 2023, and joined her Heavenly Father in Glory.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 28, 2023, at New Life Christian Church in Alexandria with Pastor John Taplin and Pastor Billy Wallace officiating. Music is provided by pianist, Sue Ronning. Services will be live streamed on Ann’s obituary page on the Lind Family Funeral Home website. Following the luncheon, interment will follow at Kinkead Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., on Thursday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ann Melissa was born on April 20, 1965, to Gerald and Helen (Beckman) Ripley in Erhard, Minnesota. She grew up in Erhard and attended Pelican Rapids Public School where she graduated in 1983. Ann continued her education and received her nursing training and worked as a nursing assistant in multiple locations during her career. She was united in marriage to Paul Johnson on August 24, 1996, at First Baptist Church in Alexandria. Following an injury while working in nursing, Ann began waitressing in Alexandria, Moorhead, and Fargo. She retired in 2009, due to health concerns and began focusing on her family and hobbies.
Ann attended New Life Christian Church and enjoyed making rugs, pickling, canning, baking, gardening, and playing bingo. She loved watching the Hallmark Channel and her favorite foods she especially enjoyed were mashed potatoes, red hot dish, oatmeal and Lefse. She especially enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Gerald; and sister Susan.
Ann is survived by her husband of 26 years, Paul; son, Justin (Trisha) Braaten of Minot, North Dakota; daughter, Sarah (JD) Derring of Osakis; five brothers, Dave (Jeanette) Ripley, John (Carol) Ripley, Craig Ripley, Andy Ripley, and Brian (Phyllis) Ripley all of Erhard; four sisters, Mary (Chuck) Blastervold of Cannon Falls, Arlene Johanning of Thief River Falls, Sandy (Jim) Brummer of Pelican Rapids, and Jean (Kirby) Kugler of Erhard; sister-in-law, Sharon Ripley of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law, Gary (Becky) Longfors of Fergus Falls; six grandchildren, JD Jr., Jamison, Maddox, Jax, Jesse, and Jace; along with many nieces and nephews.
The Pallbearers are Brian Ripley, Justin Braaten, JD Derring, JD Derring Jr., Jamison Braaten, and Kirby Kugler.
Memorials are preferred.
